Every applicant for membership of the association shall be proposed by
a financial member of the association and seconded by another financial
member. Membership of the association is a pre-requisite for attendance
at classes or any other activities arranged by U3A Rockhampton.
An application for membership must be in writing, on the approved Membership
Application, which is available on the internet, and forwarded to the
Secretary with the appropriate fees. All applications are considered at
the following management committee meeting.
A person who is currently a financial member of another recognised U3A
association in Australia may apply to become an affiliate member. An affiliate
member will have no voting rights nor be eligible to serve on a committee
but may apply to participate in any of the association’s activities.
For the information of prospective members
U3A Rockhampton and District Inc carries Public Liability Insurance to
the value of $20 million. Photographs taken of U3A Rockhampton activities
and members are sometimes published on our website, in our Journal, and
in local newspapers. If you do not wish this to happen, please advise
the Secretary in writing.
Annual membership is from January to December each year. The annual membership
fee is $20.00 per year payable before 31 December in
the prior year. There is a joining fee of $10.00, which
includes a name badge. If joining between 1 July and 31 October, the membership
fee is $10.00.
If payment is being made by direct deposit to the association’s
account or by internet transfer, please include your surname as reference
so your payment can be linked to your application.
