The
July Outing for U3A Rockhampton saw 27 members visit Wilson
Roses on Farnborough Road Yeppoon
While George worked away collecting flowers his partner Louise
took us all for a tour of the intriging setup of three hydroponic
rose and gerbera hot houses. |

After
trying their hand at various other businesses, the Wilsons
sailed up the east coast of Australia looking for a port to
call home. The weather at yeppoon was a drawcard and after
a tour of the local area they decided to stay and set up their
dream farm to grow hydroponic roses and gerberas.
They now sell direct retail with very reasonable delivery
to locals in the Rockhampton region. |

Our
U3A members were sorry that they couldnt buy a rose plant
but they were surprised how the stock of roses is controlled
and the quality of flowers that are produced. The gerberas
were so strong and healthy and George said that they produce
flowers in the hothouse all year round |

Open
to the public and open 7 days a week I'm sure some of our
members will go back again.
Louise put together a floral arrangement which was raffled
and won by Nancy Crapp |
